Allianz Partners, a world leader in B2B2C insurance and assistance, today announced the appointment of Carsten Staat as Regional Managing Director for Asia Pacific, Middle East & Africa (APAC & MEA), effective 1 August 2026. Carsten will report to Jacob Fuest, Chief Markets Officer of Allianz Partners.

Carsten Staat brings a proven track record of delivering exceptional business results. Over the past four years as Managing Director for Allianz Partners Germany, he drove strong growth, elevated customer satisfaction, and secured strategically important partnerships that strengthened the company's market position. He has been with the Allianz Group since 2001, building extensive experience across a diverse range of leadership roles.

Allianz Partners, a world leader in B2B2C insurance and assistance, has announced two strategic leadership appointments to its Board of Management. These appointments highlight the depth of expertise and adaptability within Allianz's leadership team, further strengthening the Board as Allianz Partners advances its growth strategy.

After nearly two decades within the Allianz Group, Phil Hoffman has been appointed Chief Officer Travel and Member of the Board of Management at Allianz Partners, effective April 15th, 2026, subject to regulatory approval. In his new role, he will report directly to Tomas Kunzmann, CEO of Allianz Partners, and lead the continued expansion of the travel business.

In Interbrand’s Best Global Brands 2025 ranking, Allianz climbed two ranks to #27 of all corporate brands across all sectors, with the top five brands being Apple, Microsoft, Amazon, Google, and Samsung. Furthermore, Allianz increased its brand value to $28.2 billion, an increase of 20 percent over the prior year – five times the growth rate of other ranked brands.

Allianz Partners, a global leader in insurance and assistance services, is pleased to announce the appointment of Okan Özdemir as its new Chief Officer for Health and Board Member, effective September 1, 2025. In this role, Okan will report directly to Allianz Partners CEO Tomas Kunzmann.

Okan Özdemir joins Allianz Partners from Allianz Türkiye, where he served as Chief Health Officer and Executive Board Member since 2019. With over 24 years of strong leadership at Allianz in a number of strategic roles including Chief Marketing Officer, he has been instrumental in advancing the company’s market leadership and growth in health insurance while overseeing a significant digital transformation within the business.

Allianz Partners New Zealand is pleased to announce the appointment of Phil Wright as Head of Intermediated Distribution. This appointment further strengthens our commitment to the New Zealand travel trade, demonstrating our dedication to supporting and enhancing the industry.

With over 26 years of experience in the travel industry, Phil brings deep expertise and leadership to the role. He began his career at Gullivers Pacific (which later became Helloworld), before moving to Online Republic, part of the Webjet Group, where he spent 13 years in senior leadership roles, including General Manager of Motorhome Republic and Group Chief Revenue Officer, making him a valuable addition to Allianz Partners.

A new study from Allianz Partners reveals that nearly three-quarters of Kiwis plan to travel overseas in 2025, with Australia topping the list of destinations. But for those staying home (27%), the main reason is clear: it’s simply too expensive. Interestingly, non-travellers estimate they need twice the budget of those who are actually travelling – suggesting a misperception about the true cost of travel.
