The 14th Allianz Motor Day explores what modern cockpit design demands of drivers, what the latest research reveals about distraction risk, and we must do to ensure the next chapter of mobility is not just smarter, but safer. Because a car is not a smartphone – and technology must serve the driver, not compete for attention.
To gain a comprehensive understanding of driver distraction, the Allianz Center for Technology (AZT) conducted an extensive research programme. It combined analyses of accident data, real-vehicle testing, cognitive modelling, an international consumer survey, and a driving simulator study carried out in collaboration with the Technical University of Munich. The results of this research and what needs to be done for more safety on the roads can be found in the material below.
