Allianz donates up to 1 million euros to local relief and resilience

Claims adjusters, agents and brokers are providing on-site support to customers, making both technical and human resources available to enable immediate assistance and support for those affected.

In addition, Allianz Group is donating up to 1 million euros of which will be allocated in two ways: 500,000 euros is to be donated to relief efforts to the Spanish Red Cross. And up to 500,000 euros is to a) match employee and intermediaries’ donations to Red Cross Society’s Disaster Response Fund and b) to donate to local organizations that are focused on disaster prevention and resilience-building programs post-disaster, reiterating our long-term commitment to this market.

The devastating effects that this extreme weather event has had in different locations in Valencia, Albacete, Murcia, Almería and Málaga has led to a reinforcement and expansion of the staff and services of Allianz Spain’s special protocol for meteorological events.

We have intensified our digital assessment systems to assess damage via mobile phone and alerted our network of experts to intervene as quickly as possible to support those affected. Dedicated teams have been working over the weekend attending to our clients and intermediaries. Also, we have made available our offices to agents displaced by the disaster.

Veit Stutz, CEO of Allianz Spain, says:

“In this very difficult situation, I would like to express my sincere condolences to all those who have lost a loved one in this terrible catastrophe. And to all those affected, and are still being affected, I send you my deepest sympathy at this difficult time.

The Allianz Spain team has been committed from the outset to providing all possible support to clients and intermediaries. That is why we have reinforced our special protocol to deal with the devastating consequences. It is in these situations where our role as insurers takes on greater relevance.”
